Residents participate in daily recreational programming both on site and in the community. Activities vary by season but include hiking, swimming, bowling, riding their scooters or bicycles, playing tag, volleyball, soccer and basketball. Winter activities include skating, hockey (both at the local outdoor rinks and as part of the Grandview Recreational Hockey league) dog sledding and downhill skiing.
The land based programming offers residents an opportunity to learn how to trap small game, learning how to fish, boating, swimming and campfires. The residents are expected to help out in the maintenance of the camp as appropriate to their age and ability. Residents also have opportunities to ride the ATV vehicles with staff and snowmobiling with staff in the winter months.
Cultural programming includes attending Sharing Circles, fish frys, feasts and Pow Wow’s in the community. Residents also have opportunities to meet with Elders to learn traditional stories and drumming.
